The occasion was graced by the chief guest, Shri M. M. Rout, Director, Dhenkanal Science Center, Dhenkanal, the chief speaker, S. C. Swain, Dalmia Scientific and industrial research, Rajgangpur, and our Principal Dr. Sakuntala jena, Madam. The meeting was successfully organised by Dr Sisir Kumar Sethy, as Vice President, and all the Faculties of the Department of Science.
National Science Day 2026
As per the decision of the Staff Council Meeting held on dt.28.11.2025 under the chairmanship of Principal in Smart Classroom-2& Notice No.018, dtd. 03.01.2026 of Principal, the51stAnnual Sports Meet (+3 wing) for the academic session 2025-26 was held on dt.09.01.2026 & 10.01.2026. The Annual Sports Meet was held under the direct supervision and guidance of Dr. Sakuntala Jena, Principal. Sri Udhaba Mallick &Dr. Pankaj Barik (OIC, Sports) acted as overall in-charge of the said Annual Sports Meet. The indoor games and girls common room events of the said Annual Meet was on dt. 09.01.2026 in which various games like cricket, slow cycling, chess, hand wrestling, football, carrom, kabaddi, badminton (singles & doubles) and skipping was conducted among the interested students with the judgeship of different faculty members and the outdoor/ track and field events followed by prize distribution and closing ceremony was held on dt. 10.01.2026.The sports event was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Sakuntala Jena and different outdoor/track & field events was conducted by the PET Sri Baikuntha Bihari Sahaniwith the active support of all the faculty members of Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Dhenkanal. Various track and field events was conducted among the interested students of +3 wing like shot put, discuss throw, 100meters race, 200 meters race, long jump, high jump etc. followed by certificate & prize distribution (Medals and trophies) among the winners of both indoor games and outdoor games( track& field events). For smooth conduct of the sports events among students all type of arrangement was made like fast aid kit, Glucon-D, drinking water and refreshments for students and staff members. The prize distribution and Closing Ceremony of the 51th Annual Meet 2025-26 was held under the chairmanship of Principal Dr. Sakuntala Jena and in coordination of Sri Udhaba Mallick & Pankaj Barik(OIC Sports).Dr. Antaryami Samal, Retd. CDMO and G.B member of Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Dhenkanal graced the occasion as Chief Guest and distributed the prizes(Trophies & medals) and certificates among the winners of different events & volunteers. Miss Smrutipriya Naik, +3 1st year Arts student of History Department crowned as Champion of 51st Annual Sports Meet 2025-26 and was also felicitated by the Chief Guest and Principal. The Annual Sports Meet closing ceremony ended with vote of thanks to all by Dr. Pankaj Barik.
Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Dhenkanal and Govt. Women’s HSS Dhenkanal celebrated its 51st Annual Day on 14th of February 2026 in the college premises. Dr Arpita Sabath, prominent academician, administrator and visionary Ex Principal was invited as the chief guest. Khurshida Begum, alumni of this college and recipient of president award was invited as the guest of honor. Dr. Sakuntala Jena, Principal presided over the meeting. Miss. Leena Gantayat, President, Dramatic Society delivered welcome speech. The guest introduction was presented by Dr. Sarojini Das, vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Truptimayee Sahoo. R Shibali Priyadarshini and Krishna Sahoo presented and coordinated the meeting. Students were awarded prizes for week long competitions organized by cultural and dramatic society. The Students securing highest marks in Degree and Council examinations were also felicitated. Sunita Mishra, a student of +3 Science shared her experience. The annual report was presented as documentary. The meeting was followed by various cultural programme presented by students.

National Mathematics Day celebrated in Dhenkanal Women’s College Campus

Dhenkanal – Today, 22/12/25 Rikh, National Mathematics Day was celebrated in Dhenkanal Women’s College Campus. On today’s National Mathematics Day, Professor Jai Prakash Panda of Burla VSSUT participated as the chief speaker. He highlighted the various uses of mathematics and the biography of Ramanuja. On today’s day, the welcome speech was given by Shri. Bhubaneswar, Head of the Department of Speech.He looked at the life of Ramanuja with struggles. Dr. Rosalini Das introduced the keynote speaker in today’s meeting. On this occasion, quiz and poster making competition was conducted and the winners were given trophies and certificates. A film made on Ramanuja was presented in today’s seminar. Finally, Dr. Jitendra Kumar Behera proposed the vote of thanks.

The session aimed to raise awareness on issues of discrimination, abuse, and gender injustice while empowering students with knowledge on available support mechanisms and legal protections. Resource persons from ISWO highlighted the need for collective responsibility in addressing violence and stressed the role of youth in fostering a safe and equitable society. Faculty members and students actively participated in discussions, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to promoting gender sensitivity, equality, and a violence-free environment for women and girls.
