DEPARTMENT OF OIDA:

The Department of Odia is one of the premier departments of Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya that started its humble journey in the year 1981. Teaching, learning, and extension of Odia Language and Literature are the basic objectives of the Department. The Department has strength of 20 seats in Odia Honours in an academic session. The Department also conducts Seminars, Debates, Discussions and various competitions among the students for achieving their academic excellence. The Department has a fully functional seminar Library with latest publications on various subjects for which the students are immediately benefited. Students passing out the Department either pursue higher study or opt for various career options.

Dr. (Smt) Anita Behera

MA, MPhil., UGC NET-JRF, PhD (Utkal University)

Dr. Anita Behera has completed her Master Degree in Odia from Ravenshaw College in 1987.

Dr. Anita Behera has completed her Master Degree in Odia from Ravenshaw College in 1987. She subsequently completed MPhil and PhD from Utkal University in the year 1989 and 1999 respectively. She joined as Junior Lecturer in Odia in K.K.S Women’s College, Balasore under the Department of Higher Education in 2005. She got transferred to Ravenshaw Junior College in 2014 and served as Assistant Professor in Odia (CB) and in 2023 she has joined in Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Dhenkanal. She has published a book entitled “Odia Natya Sahityare Samajika Chetna O Ashwinikumar” by the publisher “Agraduta” in 2012. During the course of 18years of academic career she has attended 4 nos. of Refresher Course and published article in Jhankar, Janasudha and in the weekly magazine Krusaka Sambada. She is also a life time member of Janasudha magazine.
