DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
The Honours Department of Education came into being in the year 2015 under Utkal University and afterwards it was shifted to Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar. At the beginning of the Honours subject University authority is pleased to sanction 32 seats and later on after restructuring of Honours subjects of various departments now 20 students are allowed to take admission under SAMS.
The Honours Department of Education has had a novel beginning and glorious achievement. When the crisis of values has been a global concern, the Department of Education teaches our students the mannerism along with profound faith in knowledge which ultimately focuses on the transmission of knowledge to the people who stand at the bottom of society. From the beginning of our department no student has secured second division which refers to the fact that all students from 2014 to 2022 have got first division and two of our students have secured 1st class 1st position in the academic session 2019-20 and 2020-21. They are Aparna Sahoo and Madhusmita Das.
The Department of Education has organised UGC sponsored state level Two-Days Inter Disciplinary Seminar from 11.04.2015 to 12.04.2015 and Dr. R. C. Malla, our H. OD, was the organising secretary of the seminar. Apart from this we regularly organise Departmental seminar and various competitions for enhancement of skill of debating, exposition and exploration of hidden potentialities of the students.
