DEPARTMENT OF HOME SCIENCE:

The Department of Home Science is one of the premier Departments of Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya. The Department came into being in the year 1985 with its Honours Programme in Home Science. The Department has strength of 16 seats for its Honours in an academic session. Further, Home Science is also offered as an elective subject to the 1st year degree students with a vision to provide young minds with adequate knowledge and expertise to face the challenges of life with a practical mind and to become expert Home Scientists for improved, independent, disciplined personal-professional life. The Department has its own space for class room-cum-laboratory with all required equipment for the smooth conduct of theory and practical classes. It also has a fully functional Seminar Library and classroom projector facility from which the students are immensely benefited.

Dr. Vijayeta Priyadarshini has been in the teaching profession since 2013. She has 10 years of teaching experience. She joined Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya in 2019. Her field of Specialization is extension education and applied nutrition. She has been awarded her Ph.D Degree from Rama Devi Women’s University. She has published 25 research articles in various journals and 3 book chapters. She has also presented 35 research papers at various national and international conferences. She has also attended 30 seminars and 8 orientation/refresher/training programmes. She is a life member of the Home Science Association of India, Nutrition Society of India, Orissa Society of Extension Education, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, and an annual member of RC – 07, Indian Sociological Society.
