DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY:
The Department of Chemistry started its journey by offering Honours programme in Chemistry in 2015. The Department has intake strength of 20 seats in Honours programme in an academic session. Te students are allotted by Govt of Odisha through Student Academic Management system (SAMS). The Department aims to impart quality education to the young girl students to prepare them to meet their career goals and future challenges. The Department has a seminar library from which books are issued to the students. Seminars are held in the Department in which seminar papers are presented by the students. Students of the Department are performing very well in their university examinations and other competitive examinations.
Dr. Sakuntala Jena has been awarded PhD from Berhampur University in the year 2015. The topic of the PhD thesis was “Studies on Peroxide Reaction Mechanisms”. She has 23 years of teaching experience. She joined Dhenkanal Mahila Mahavidyalaya in 2010. She has completed 4 Refreshers Courses from Utkal University. She has co-authored a book “Higher Secondary Chemistry (Class - XII)” published by the Odisha state bureau of text book preparation and production, Pustak Bhavan, Bhubaneswar.
Srutikirti Rath has completed her MSc from Fakir Mohan University in 2017 and MPhil from Sambalpur University in 2019. She has completed her BEd from Acharya Nagarjun University in 2021. She has 3 years of teaching experience. She has research interest in Fluorescence and Medicine.
Sucharita Priyadarshini Patra has completed her MSc from Fakir Mohan University in 2022. She as research interest in organometallic synthesis.
